Are OpenCampsite's Ontario Parks cancellation alerts free?
Yes. Free beta access includes 3 trips at a time, up to 6 campgrounds each, with text, email, or both on each alert and no card required. Choose a supported campground below. The alert does not reserve a campsite, and you still pay Ontario Parks' normal booking fees when you make a reservation.
Does Ontario Parks have a campsite cancellation notification?
Yes. Use Notify Me in Ontario Parks' official campsite search for availability notifications. OpenCampsite is another option for supported campgrounds, with email or text per alert and optional browser notifications. Neither option holds or books the campsite.
When can an Ontario Parks reservation first be cancelled?
Ontario Parks does not allow changes or cancellations more than four months before arrival. That is different from the five-month booking window. Reaching the four-month boundary does not promise that any reservation will actually be cancelled.
When do Ontario Parks campsite reservations open?
Five months before your arrival date at 7 a.m. Eastern, subject to operating dates and park rules. Late July has a month-end exception: July 29–31 opens March 1 in a non-leap year; July 29 can open February 29 in a leap year.
Can I get alerts for Algonquin camping?
Browse the Algonquin guide or the parks listed on this page to find the locations OpenCampsite can watch. Choose your exact campground or camping area and dates. A frontcountry campsite search is not interchangeable with a backcountry itinerary or day-use permit.
