Delete your OpenCampsite account

Request deletion by email

Send a request from the email address you use for OpenCampsite with the subject “Delete my OpenCampsite account.” If you signed in by phone, include that number so we can verify ownership. We verify your identity before removing any account. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes.

If your email app does not open, email hey@opencampsite.com directly. We will confirm when deletion is complete.

Delete it yourself

On the website, sign in, open Account, and choose Delete my account. Confirm your email or phone number and enter a fresh sign-in code. You do not need to install the app.

In the iOS or Android app, open Account → Privacy, terms & account → Delete account. Confirm your sign-in code to continue.

What deletion removes

Deletion stops your alerts and future scans and removes your sign-in, saved campgrounds, searches and alert history, notification preferences, registered push devices, SMS verifications, shared-alert connections, and connected reservation-provider credentials. It also removes your campground photos, reviews, contribution reports, contributor-blocking preferences, and account scan passes. This cannot be undone.

We keep limited records needed to prevent deleted accounts from being restored by old sessions, backups, or delayed purchase events. Payment providers keep transaction and invoice records under their legal retention requirements. Backup copies expire under the backup retention schedule; deletion records prevent those copies from restoring your account. See our privacy policy’s deletion and retention details.

Subscriptions

Account deletion cancels recurring subscriptions billed directly by OpenCampsite. Apple and Google subscriptions must be canceled separately in the store where you subscribed. You can request account deletion while a store subscription is active. Deleting an account does not automatically issue a refund.
