Camping reservation guide
Can I book a campsite for tonight in Oregon?
Yes, at participating Oregon state park reservation campgrounds when space is available. Same-day online tent and RV reservations close at 11:59 p.m.; yurts and cabins close earlier, at 5:59 p.m. Check the park's season and arrival instructions before travelling.

Oregon same-day booking cutoffs
| Accommodation | Same-day online cutoff | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Tent and RV campsites | 11:59 p.m. | Search tonight's available sites and read late-arrival instructions. |
| Yurts and deluxe yurts | 5:59 p.m. | Complete the booking before the roofed-accommodation cutoff. |
| Cabins and deluxe cabins | 5:59 p.m. | Confirm access or key instructions before travelling. |
| Group facilities, hiker/biker areas, and other excluded types | Separate rules | Do not apply the tent/RV deadline; check the facility's own process. |
These are Oregon State Parks' published deadlines for its same-day reservation program. Use the park's local date and time, not the time zone on your phone while travelling. Participation depends on campground and season; private campgrounds and federal sites have their own rules.
Book tonight in three steps
- Search the official Oregon State Parks reservation service with today's arrival and tomorrow's departure. Choose the accommodation you actually need.
- Read the site's equipment limits and arrival instructions. A late online deadline does not mean an office or gate remains open until then.
- Finish checkout and save your confirmation before driving somewhere without reliable reception.
What if you missed the yurt deadline?
At 6:15 p.m., an available yurt may already be outside the same-day online booking window while an eligible tent or RV site is still reservable. Changing accommodation only helps if you have suitable sleeping equipment; an RV pad is not a substitute for a furnished shelter.
Check the park's posted walk-up instructions or ask a ranger about permitted options. Do not settle into an apparently empty site: its reserved guest could be arriving late. If staff cannot confirm a place, arrange another campground or overnight accommodation before setting off.
For a later trip, search a wider date range and read our guide to gaps in campsite availability. An opening for one night may not cover your entire visit.
Common questions
Can I reserve an Oregon yurt on the same day?
Yes, where same-day reservations are offered and a yurt is available. The online cutoff is 5:59 p.m., including deluxe yurts. Cabins and deluxe cabins share that cutoff.
Is the cutoff also the latest time I can arrive?
No. A booking deadline and a park's arrival procedure are different. Read your confirmation for check-in, gate access, and late-arrival instructions.
Can I use any campsite that looks empty after the cutoff?
No. A booked camper may arrive later. Follow the park's posted walk-up process or ask staff which sites are available before setting up.
