SMS Program Terms

What the program is

OpenCampsite SMS alerts notify you by text message when a sold-out campground you are watching has availability for your dates, along with account messages related to those alerts (for example one-time verification passcodes and alert confirmations). Alerts include the campground, the newly open dates, and a link to book on the official reservation site.

How you opt in

You only receive OpenCampsite texts at a number you verify yourself. Opt-in happens in the product, never by list purchase or import:

• In account settings → notifications, you enter your mobile number, tap Send code, receive a one-time passcode by SMS, and enter it to verify the number before SMS alerts can be enabled.
• When managing alerts without an account, you can request a one-time access code by entering your mobile number; the code is sent to that number and only its owner can proceed.

Consent to receive alerts is tied to the verified number, is not a condition of any purchase, and can be withdrawn at any time (see below).

Message frequency, fees, and supported carriers

Message frequency varies with how many alerts you run and how often availability changes — typically a few messages per week per active alert. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. US numbers are supported today.

How you opt out

Reply STOP to any OpenCampsite text to stop receiving SMS from us; you will receive a single confirmation message. You can also disable SMS in account settings, or disable an individual alert from the link included in every notification. Reply HELP for help, or contact hey@opencampsite.com.

Privacy

Your mobile number is used only to deliver the messages described above. We do not sell it or share it with third parties for their marketing. Full details, including SMS opt-in data handling, are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
