ReserveCalifornia campsite cancellation alerts

Yes. OpenCampsite monitors supported ReserveCalifornia campgrounds and emails you when a matching campsite becomes available. ReserveCalifornia also has a native Create Notification workflow that sends an email notice if selected inventory opens; neither notification holds a reservation.

Alerts are available for 330 campgrounds and areas here — we watch for cancellations and new openings around the clock.

How ReserveCalifornia availability alerts work

California State Parks uses a six-month rolling reservation window, with new inventory opening daily at 8 a.m. Pacific.

Under the current statewide policy, most cancelled sites become bookable at 8 a.m. on the day after the cancellation. Openings remain first-come, first-served.

Does ReserveCalifornia have campsite availability notifications?

Yes. ReserveCalifornia's Create Notification workflow lets campers choose dates, facilities, and unit type, and says it will email them if a site becomes available.

When do cancelled ReserveCalifornia campsites become available?

California State Parks says most cancelled sites become available in the reservation system at 8 a.m. on the day after the cancellation. A notification is not a hold, so another camper can still book the opening first.

Does OpenCampsite book a ReserveCalifornia campsite for me?

No. OpenCampsite monitors supported campgrounds and emails you when a matching opening appears. You complete the reservation yourself on ReserveCalifornia while the site is still available.
