How to reserve Backcountry
Reservations are made on Parks Canada. Annual launch dates vary by park and reservation type. Use Parks Canada's official launch table for your travel year, park, and camping type. A past year's launch date cannot predict next year's opening.
Checked September 9, 2026 against the official reservation rules.
When your dates are full, choose the dates and locations you would book. We check the booking calendar on an adaptive schedule and notify you when a check finds a match. Choose email or text for each alert; enable browser notifications separately for all your alerts.
Free while we're in beta — no credit card required. OpenCampsite sends alerts; booking and payment stay on the booking website.
