OpenCampsite keeps it simpler: free cancellation alerts while we're in beta, across the US and Canada, and we never ask for your reservation-site password — when a site opens, you book it yourself on the official site.

Fair is fair: if you want someone else to win the booking race for you, Arvie's live-agent model is unique — they claim a 65% success rate at sold-out parks, and you only pay the $19 fee when a booking lands. Their RV rig-and-site filtering is real and useful, their real-time search portal covers open sites too, and they send text alerts today while we're email-only pending carrier verification.
The trade-off is their own documented design: AgentBook works by storing your park account credentials so their agents can log in as you. If you're comfortable with that, it's a legitimately effective service. If you'd rather keep your logins to yourself, see what we cover and set a free alert instead.
For alerts, yes: Arvie's Alert Me scans cost $5 each up front (checked July 21, 2026 on arvie.com), while every OpenCampsite alert is free during our beta with no credit card required. Arvie's AgentBook is a different product — a human books for you and you pay $19 on success — and we don't offer an equivalent. When our paid plans launch we'll give at least 30 days' notice, a free tier stays, and founding campers get 50% off their first year.
Arvie's AgentBook uses live human agents, not bots — their FAQ says agents "complete the booking in your name using your saved park credentials," which means storing your Recreation.gov, ReserveCalifornia, or other park logins in your Arvie profile (checked July 21, 2026). OpenCampsite never asks for reservation-site credentials: we send the alert, you book on the official site.
If you're an RVer who wants rig-length and hookup filtering, or you can't watch your phone and want a human to grab the cancellation for you the moment it appears, Arvie's model is genuinely effective — and its real-time search of open sites is free. Just go in understanding that agent booking requires sharing your park-account login with them.
Their site claims campgrounds "in the United States and Canada," but as of July 21, 2026 no Canadian reservation system is named anywhere on arvie.com — the named systems are Recreation.gov, ReserveCalifornia, ReserveFlorida, and ReserveAmerica. OpenCampsite names all of its systems, including Parks Canada, Ontario Parks, and BC Parks, and publishes every tracked campground on its coverage pages.
